Trilobites: The common sea bug responded very distinctly to changes in the atmosphere which resulted in specific species living during specific historical periods. Identifying their tiny corpses allows us to date other fossils and samples accurately.

This scientific series illustrates the fine points of trilobite morphology while specifically focusing on beautiful visual reproductions of fossils. I aim to highlight the slight details that help us determine the genus and species of trilobites. Trilobites exhibit a huge amount of individual variation so morphological identification and classification is a finely tuned science that fascinates.

Trilobites is one of several artistic, scientific journaling processes I will be forming over the coming years; all of which will center around arthropod morphology and identification.
